My name is Joe DeShon and Macon, Missouri is my home town.
If you went to high school in Macon in the late 1960s or early
1970s, yeah, I'm that Joe DeShon.
I wasn't born in Macon. We moved there right after I completed
the first grade. But that's where I grew up, that's where my
childhood memories are from, and that's where my hometown is.
Right after high school, I left town to seek fame and fortune.
Except for a few trips to visit my mother — who still lives in
Macon — I never came back.
What about the fame and fortune that I left home for? Did I ever
find them? Well, I didn't really find fortune, but I am pretty
comfortable. As for fame... hey, I have my own web site. Do you?
I live in the Kansas City area now, working for a really, really
big telecommunications company that is based here.
(Yeah, that company.)
If you'd like to find out more about me, you can take at peek at
my daily blog at
"The Mind of Joe".
Thanks for letting me share my postcard collection — and my
memories of Macon — with you.
