Notes:
This is the "old" Christian Church, just west of downtown. In the early 1960s, the congregation built a new church on the highway on the far east side of town.

This building was turned over to the Masons, who converted it into their Masonic Lodge.

When I was in the third grade, the public school was running out of room. While they were building a new addition, our three third-grade classes were bussed to the "new" Christian Church for school. It was an interesting year. We met in the school gym every morning and then boarded three buses to ride to our class. In the middle of the day, we got on the same three busses, rode back to the elementary school for lunch, and then road back to the church for afternoon classes. At the end of the day, we rode back to the school again. So we got four bus trips every day.

We always lived close enough to the school that I walked to school. Riding a bus was a "treat" for me as an 8-year-old. But I sure had my fill of bus-riding that year.

I believe that one year was the only time such a school/church arrangement was used for temporary classrooms.

I also remember playing tackle football during recess in the gravel parking lot of the church.
