The Presbyterian Church is right across the street from the
Episcopal Church. For most of the time I lived in Macon, they
shared the same pastor. Except for the Catholic Church,
liturgical denominations aren't real popular in Macon. It seems
like they built really nice buildings, but then nobody attended
them. I've had an opportunity to visit lots of denominations of churches over the years, both while I lived in Macon and later. Maybe it's just my fundamental Baptist up-bringing, but it sure seems like the worship services of all the liturgical services are almost exactly identical. The Episcopalians and the Presbyterians are just like the Catholics, except the don't have Mary and they do have pastors' wives. The Presbyterian Church is a somewhat larger building than the Episcopal Church, but it didn't seem to inspire as many postcards. This is the only one I've found. The building today looks almost exactly like this postcard. |
